Founder and Visionary

Madhavi Kapur is a homegrown educationist, who believes in applying common sense and indigenous wisdom to the modern globalizing world. She strives towards building bridges between the past and the future, rural and urban children, the 'haves' and the 'have-nots', the east and the west in a healthy cross fertilization of ideas. Her experiments and experiences have met with resounding praise from students and their parents who have been inspired by her work.

In 1986, she set up her first school - S.P.M. English School in the city of Pune. Together with her group of professional educationists, she innovated with prevailing systems, adapting textbook theories and the latest research to the unique environment of urbanizing India.

The year 1995 witnessed her break new ground when, along with her team, she took the process forward by establishing a more developed institution - the Rewachand Bhojwani Academy - which, in time, has become a relevant and replicable model.

In 2001, Ms. Kapur founded an educational trust THE MADHAVI KAPUR FOUNDATION - for the replication and scaling out of her work, so as to impact the wider educational system.

She is the strong pillar of all the work of the Foundation and continues to be an inspiration to all many teachers and students alike.



She has been practicing as a Special Educator, Educational Psychologist and an Educational Therapist for Learning Disabilities since 1989.

She earned her Masters in Educational Psychology from the Pune University.

A trained teacher from the Spastic Society of India, Mumbai, She has worked with children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities at the Centre for Special Education, Pune and Ankur Balmandir.

She is also a trained Remedial Tutor from the Alpha to Omega Learning Centre, Chennai, and works with children with Learning Disabilities. She is trained in the Kansas University’s Strategies Instruction Programme and as an Educational Therapist from the National Institute of Learning Development, USA. and implements the various interventions in the remedial programmes.

In addition to this she is a certified registered Mediator of world renowned Israeli cognitive psychologist, late Reuven Feuerstien’s Instrumental Enrichment Program and work with cognitive development in varied populations such as stroke patients, corporate groups and young children and adults

She has been a consultant to various schools in implementing their inclusive educational programs such as the Mercedes Benz International School, St. Joseph’s High School, Pashan, Vikhe Patil School, Rewachand Bhojwani Academy, Symbiosis International School , Riverdale International School and presently work as a consultant to Vidya Valley School, The Orchid School, Aman Setu, AirForce School and Sadhu Vaswani International School.She is also on the Board of Trustees of the Madhavi Kapur Foundation.

She runs an independent remediation clinic for children with learning difficulties and a co-trainer with Alpha to Omega Leaning Centre, Chennai and has conducted teacher training programs within the country and overseas, to enable teachers to work with new teaching strategies and deal with students with differing needs such as dyslexia, attention deficit disorders and autism.


Trustee & Principal

Ruchi is a passionate educator who believes in alternative approaches to education. She started her career as a preschool teacher, working under Madhavi Kapur. This laid the foundation for her journey in educational perspectives and alternate methods of teaching.

She worked at the American School of Bombay before taking up the post of Principal at a progressive school Gopals Garden, that she headed for 12 years.

She has studied the Waldorf methodology of teaching at Tridha - A Steiner School and has undergone various other courses that propagate creative and alternative learning.

She has a total of 20 yrs experience in education and also offered consultancy to various educational setups and start-ups like The Big Umbrella Preschool and Avanti Schools Trust.

She enjoys conducting parenting seminars and workshops for teachers and students.

Her many skills include creative communication and singing .

She has recently joined Aman Setu My school as Principal.


Director of Interface

Anjali tai began her association with Adi in 1989. She initially was only a parent but Adi was able to identify in her an eagerness to teach using Adi’s innovative and experience based teaching methodology, and so asked her to be a Marathi teacher. Adi didn’t give much importance to qualifications and degrees, rather seeking out people who showed an enthusiasm to teach and learn, and bought into her philosophies of education. Once they were part of the school community they were always encouraged to study further. In 1998 Anjali tai received an award from NCERT for the teaching methodologies she used in her classroom with non-marathi speaking children.

At Aman Setu, Anjali tai is the Director of Interface and she works with parents, students and teachers alike. She has always been involved with Government and Zilla Parishad related work, and in the past has also supervised the Corporate Social Responsibility aspect of Keystone. She has also been a Marathi teacher at Aman Setu.

Shereen Masters is qualified with a B.A. degree in Psychology, a B. Ed degree and a MA in Education and has a teaching experience of twenty years as a primary teacher in schools in Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai. .

Qualified in identifying Learning Disabilities in children, Shereen has worked successfully with counsellors and special educators to help children with learning disorders and also effectively counselled parents of such children.

Working in an independent capacity, Shereen does voluntary work with children from less privileged backgrounds and has developed a programme of Spoken English for the Society for the Education of the Crippled Child in Mumbai. She has conducted teacher training sessions with BMC English medium school teachers attached to the Naandi Foundation in Mumbai. She was an empanelled teacher trainer with Birla Edutech and has developed curriculum for various e- learning programmes.

Since joining the Madhavi Kapur Foundation in 2013 as co ordinator of Keystone, Shereendi has been committed to the vision of Madhavi Kapur . She has endeavoured to inculcate and spread innovative methods of teaching among the young budding generation of teachers at Aman Setu and other institutions. She is working closely with the implementation of the Ratnajaali curriculum.

Sonali Sathaye has been in the teaching profession for over 17 years. Having worked as a teacher of Maths, Hindi and Home Science, she has taught all classes from Std 1 to Std 10.

She carries a rich experience as she was the 'Director of Interface' at R.B. Academy and Primary school supervisor in Global lndian International School. She has translated many children's storybooks from English to Hindi. She has developed many Maths and Hindi language games which have been successfully used in the class rooms.

Sonali is currently heads the curriculum wing coordinator at the Madhavi Kapur Foundation. She is involved with the research and development of Ratnajaali curriculum. She coordinates the process of implementing the curriculum effectively at Aman Setu and at other client schools. As a teacher trainer, she has conducted workshops on Teaching methodology for Hindi and Mathematics, Study skills, Class room management techniques, Project planning, Divergent and creative thinking. Her forte is training of Pre primary teachers to make the initial learning experiences for the young child pleasurable and lasting.
